On Sunday PSA had a family day held at the escape theme park and my poly friend Erik, who is working at the PSA, got 5 tickets and we(jason, jack, dickhead and me) went along. But... of all the days of the week it had to rain for half a day that sunday. How fantastic.. After waiting for the rain to stop it was already 3+pm and the staff had to do test runs on the rides and dry the seats, plus the super long queues for the rides.. I only managed to get on 3 rides. 1st ride was this rotating ride called rainbow.. not that bad.. not not really exciting. 2nd ride was the go-kart.. was pretty surprised by the speed of these go-karts.. thought it's gonna be slow.. and of the 3 laps we ran mr.dickhead spun TWICE! Not gonna name him to avoid further embarrassment. Last one was this ride called revolution. Prob the best of the 3.. at least there was some "kick".. Only Erik and I got on the ride though.. the rest was afraid of puking.. too bad then. Wanted to go on more rides but the two 'J's and dickhead wanted to go so we went home...

Today.. went to watch X-men: The Last Stand with my cousin jh. Amazing finale to the trilogy.. really action-packed movie though I must say it really didn't stay loyal to the actual X-men comics.....

After that was gonna go find something to eat when we bump into da yi(1st aunt in chi). She just did her gym and was gonna have dinner so she treated us to dinner at swensen's. Really paiseh but she insisted. We ordered something cheap and she kept asking us to order more. Guess she was in a good mood and really glad she had us for company for dinner... haha. Went home after that.. good thing jh drove.. cos I dread taking the train back.

In fact, I hate taking trains. If I have a choice, which I usually do, I'd take the bus. Was running late for the movie today and thought I'd just take the train. It's just the same or slower.. and the minutes seem to countdown forever. Another thing.. I really hate crowds.. and there's plenty today.. especially on the train. It's a monday man.. don't these ppl have to work? Only later was I reminded it's the school holidays.. right that figures.. no wonder there's so many kids running about. Anyway enough ranting.. Ciao

Was anyone out in the open last night? If you were.. and lookin' up the sky.. you'd see a sky full of stars. From where I live, I'd be lucky to see 2 stars on any given day but last night the whole sky was so full of stars it's amazing.. really beautiful. Sometimes, just doing nothing but gazing at the stars or clouds.. is peaceful yet at the same time might remind you of a certain someone in your life, perhaps someone who you used to star-gaze with or promised to and is not in your life anymore? Who knows.............

Well anyway met up with the bros for dinner last night. Went to gluttons bay beside the esplanade. Really disappointed at the range of food they have there... nothing much to eat, and the prices are ridiculous. Another place to "chop" tourists..... Walked around the area after that before hanging by esplande taking pics. Good thing I brought the mini tripod.. the pics turned out pretty well. Will post them after I put a sig on it..

Woke up early this mornin' for CTNP's bowling competition held at West Bowl.. Entered for fun even though we're the hosts. Maybe it's a good thing we didn't win though cos it prob won't be nice. (Plus I bowled terribly today.. haha) Man I'm starving.. waiting for my cousin to come so we can go have some dinner! Ciao!

Few nights ago watched this korean movie on vcd called "Welcome to Dongmakgol". Set during the Korean war in 1950, it talks about this village called dongmakgol totally unaffected by the war until one day an american fighter crashed near the village and at the same time a couple of south korean soldiers who lost their troops and a bunch of north korean soldiers losing their way and ending up at the village together. Tension ensues but slowly the soldiers got harmonized and worked together to help the villagers restore their food supply when they accidentally blew up their storage hut.

However all good things have to end when the shadow of war finally creeps into the village. A very beautiful film.. and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Do catch it if you have the chance..

Hey all.. I'm back! Well actually I was back on saturday night.. Plane touched down at 2130.. and I only reached home sweet home at midnight.. why?? Cos the bloody battery on the van died while we were in China.. After trying in vain to jump-start the van we decided to leave it there and take a cab home. At what cost??? I had to wake up bloody early the next morning to go fetch a mechanic with my dad to go get the battery changed. I drove the car home while my dad took the van. Man I slept the whole afternoon...

To those who have asked me how's my trip, I know all I've said was "It's okay.", maybe here's a better description of the trip..

Well actually for the five days I was at Guangzhou, it has been pretty routine stuff. The first two days we kept switching hotel rooms it was crazy. We stayed at the the Hotel Landmark Canton which was a 5-star hotel of local standards. The original plan was to stay a night there in a room and go to a lower star though cheaper for the rest of the trip where we'll take two rooms. But when we got there the first day they didn't have the room we booked and wanted to give us a room on the Smoking-floor. Of cos we didn't want it and after more checking and waiting they recommended the suites, which was just RMB100 odd more than if we took 2 rooms at the cheaper hotel so we took the suite. Now when we got to the suite my mother complained abt the bathroom being too cramped and there's no place to put the toiletries blah blah so we changed to the 2nd room. Fine. Problem now? The air-con was pathetic. Now my mum AND dad are complaining. The next day my mum made my dad go get the room changed and we were about to when the duty manager told us that room's toilet ain't workin'. Finally we moved to a room with ample space for my mum and bloody strong air-con that got me shivering everytime I don't have my jacket on. Frankly I'm not fussy and all the changing's making us pretty well-known with the duty managers. About the duty managers.. seems like there's always one on duty at every suite floors and they are always very polite and friendly. We stayed on the 35th floor and the lift shoots up so fast you could feel the pressure building in ur ears. Oh fantastic view out the window btw ;)

Alright enough of the hotel.. this trip's a business trip.. and that's what we did. For the days we were there every morning we'd have breakfast at the hotel's club house(taste great might I add) and we'll set off to various wholesale places around Guangzhou to buy goods. The 1st two days we arrived there was an impending tyhoon called "Typhoon Pearl". We saw in the news that it was the biggest one to hit china in a long time but was mighty relieved that it's not gonna hit Guangzhou. Though the 1st two days as it was coming the winds were very strong and the temperature was really cool. Man really enjoyed the weather for the two days. By the 3rd day the tyhoon had went past Guangzhou and the sun came out. Was pretty much like Singapore.. just that you prob won't sweat cos the humidity level was much lower here, even though it's hot.

By evening all the wholesale shops would have closed and after going back to the hotel to put the goods we'd head out for dinner and shopping. The food here is really good, and cheap. Fantastic man.. we can order a whole table-full of food and you won't pay more than S$50. And for 3 persons that's quite a lot of food. Had seafood the 1st night, some thai-chi food on the 2nd night, auth chi food with dim sum on the 3rd and western with pasta on the last night.. Will post the pics cos words mean nth when it comes to food!

After dinner we'd go do some shopping and there's two places that we went.. one's called Beijing St. and the other one's called Shang Xia Jiu I think.. both are pretty simliar though Shang Xia Jiu has many many shops and streets. These two places are not shopping centres.. more like shopping streets. And it's really happening.. a lot of people and the whole place is lit with neon lights. There're mostly clothes stores actually and the brands of clothes here and so many you can't count with both hands. There's the usual Giordano, Baleno etc etc and many many clothing brands in the same style as giordano and stuff and they have so many funny names for it. Well the best thing prob is that all the clothes are much cheaper than in Singapore... Bought lots of clothes and watches. My parents bought some footwear for RMB18.. that's like S$3.20 man! crazy i tell you.. and the funny thing is after that I went to get a cup of ice coffee mixed with brandy and it's also RMB18.. ha...

And the people there, especially the ladies, are really friendly. I don't remember the service being so good in China but well.. they're moving forward and really.. the service is so much better than in Singapore. How many times do you get served by sales person or waitresses who more often than not have a blank expression on their faces? The sales ppl there are all very friendly and always have this mega-watt smile and always more than willing to take the extra step to help us. Well anyway that's what I've encountered. My siblings who went the previous trip said they had a horrid time with the ppl there so I guess it's who you meet....

All in all.. this trip's been a good escape.. to take some time off all the shit back home. Just at moments I wished my siblings were there.. haha. That'll be much more fun.
Will post the pics tmr.. till then.. OUT.

Hi all.. am in Guangzhou, China now.. Fantastic how internet connects the world huh? Chilling at the hotel's clubhouse on the 33rd floor now. The view out the window is fantastic.. China's really coming forward very fast. Gone are teh dirty toilets, litter-filled streets and what-nots. People here dresses pretty trendily and the floors are relatively clean.... The food is great.. and really cheap.. and the staff here(hotel and shops) are very friendly.

Really relaxing now.. The whole clubhouse is empty except me and the beegee's music is pretty soothing. Today's weather seems pretty sunny and clear.. compared to the last two days, when it was overcast and rainy, but the wind was really strong.. and very shiok too ;) Seems the tyhoon's gonna miss Guangzhou and go into the Guangdong province, hence those winds and rain the past two days were from the passing typhoon. Pity abt the winds though.. seems like today's gonna be a hot day.. and the wind blowing while walking on the streets felt like air-con. Ya know what I mean....

Alright I guess that's all for now.. Will be back in Singapore in a few days.. so ciao for now..

Why do we dream? Why do we dream of certain things of people? Cause we long for them? Or is it the opposite - trying hard to forget about it but back in your mind it's still there. A good friend told me, we dream, especially of things beyond our reach, because we think of all the could-have-beens and all the what-ifs and that it sucks to know what could have been might never be.. I guess it's pretty true.. from some aspects. And sometimes, depending on how you feel about it, you'll prob wake up feelin' like shit after you wake up.

Humans.. prob the weirdest creatures on earth. We listen to sad songs when we're sad, we prob are so complicated that no one knows what's in the mind...

Anyway.. I will be leaving for china tmr morning. Haven't even started packing yet.. Seems like everytime I leave the country I leave with a heavy heart. Maybe it's a coincidence. Well.. my parents are going there to import goods in for their business and I'm just tagging along and helping out. Taking it as a holiday too before enlisting for NS. Maybe it'll be good to get away from everything here. I know it's like a temporary escape. Everyone wants clousure, that's how people move on. But some people would prefer to run away, and it's hard to take for the other party. Hope this trip would be good, even though my mother just told me we might encounter typhoon over there. Wish me luck then..

I'd better start packing or I won't get any sleep tonight.... See y'all when I get back.. Ciao

Kids are really cute. Yesterday I was cycling till I reached an overhead bridge(for those who're hiding in their caves for the past half a yr, cycling across a bridge means a $1000 fine now). I got down and pushed the bike up and just then a lil' boy, probably round 4 yrs old came running down. The moment he saw me he shouted, "CANNOT RIDE BICYCLE! CANNOT RIDE BICYCLE!". And I replied, "I'm not riding! I'm pushing it!". Haha.. kids..

Had a long day today. Met up with the bros Wenwen, Jiahao and Billy today. Too bad Yingqin and Junhao can't meet us today.. since Jiahao was driving. Well doubt we can all squeeze into his crusty old car. Really really "well maintained" car man.. we can't complain though.. since he's driving us around. One heck of a safe driver, going 10km/h below the speed limit on the expressway.. haha. Went bowling again today.. at the Chevron's this time. Man my form always dip when I play there. Wonder why... Went to JEC after that to get presents for Stephanie and Weijie's 21st birthday party. Got her an Escada perfume and a model helicopter for him. Gonna go broke soon! And.. I saw Justin Ang and Vernon.A there too(for those of you who don't listen to 987fm, these two guys are the funniest DJs pairing ever - every weekday 6am to 10am). They were doing some roadshow.. really funny duo.. fantastic..

Drove down to Bugis after that where we took in the sights and had some makan before going down to the party at west coast park. This is like the 4th 21st birthday party in 2 months and it's the same group of girls and only 2 guys(Wenwen & me). It was pretty crazy but it was fun. Tonight was really cooling and the air was really.. moist. Our bags were like damp and our hair was wet too.. even though it wasn't raining.

Anyway, didn't think we'd stay till late but we did.. left around 12am. Had fun chatting with the girls.. wonder when we'll meet up again.

Here are a couple of pics from West Coast Park...

That's all tonight.. will post more pics later.. ciao and out..

Sometimes.. it would be nice to be a 3 yr old again. Without a care of the world. Without the headaches, the stress, the confusion, worries etc etc that people face.. The only worry perhaps was when you're gonna get fed. Sometimes.. it would be nice to be a kid again. Things are so much simpler.

My childhood was a happy one I'd say. Grew up in this lovely house with 3 families and my grandma under the roof, my 1st uncle, 3rd, and my family. Was really close with my 1st uncle's cousins, especially CL(you know who you are..).. maybe cos we're the same age. It's really funny, my friends all have the same surprised reaction when they found out I was really close with my cousins. Most of them hardly talk to their cousins. Was talking to CL just now, talked a lil' about our childhood, and all the mischieves we were up to.. like wearing my mother's clip-on earrings and messing up her cosmetics. Thinking back, adulthood seemed an eternity, and now for us it's just a few months away. Well we still remained close after 1st uncle moved out of the house. Since the house's been demolished nothing's been the same.. The family just seemed so diverse.. kinda sad really.

Well, at least it was good while it lasted. People always say, "Never mourn what you've lost, but be glad that it happened.". Know I'm contradicting myself but sometimes I just find it difficult to see how you can not be sad to lose something dear to you or to forget.

Alright.... Leave the sad things behind. Here are some pics again...

Alright.. enjoy.. ciao

Today today today..... today did some cycling. Cycled over to Jack's house in Jurong to do some Fifa 06 editing and play some fifa matches.. which he duely lost.. hahaha. Alright.. Jason came over too. Went for some small makan at a kopitiam at central before rushing home. Supposed to meet my cousin Jiahui for cycling(more cycling) and dinner. Was really late cos the guys wanna makan. We rode down to Holland V. for dinner at breeko and rode back. The night breeze was fantastic and really calming.

Sometimes.. when your mind is so full of thoughts and unhappiness.. a nice slow ride or stroll at night by a stream will do wonders..

Nothing else to blog abt..

Cheers..

What a boring boring day.. spent the half of the day idling around. Went swimming in the evening. Love swimming.. I always thought life would be different if I can't swim. Wonder how often I can swim after I enlist.. Today's weather wasn't really good and the pool was pretty empty.. which was great cos I really hate to dodge people in the pool. And it was raining as I swam. Always liked to swim in the rain.. and the view from underwater when you look up.

Anyway.. really had nothing to do.. so did this.. thought it was pretty accurate except for the friends part..

How You Life Your Life

You have a good sense of self control and hate to show weakness.
You're laid back and chill, but sometimes you care too much about what others think.
You prefer a variety of friends and tend to change friends quickly.
Some of your past dreams have disappointed you, but you don't let it get you down.

and this too(now you see how bored I am)...
This one is pretty accurate though I guess...

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.

In love, you feel the most alive when things are straight-forward, and you're told that you're loved.

You'd like to your lover to think you are optimistic and happy.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.

Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted.

Now for some pics.. this is the adidas top I mentioned.. did it with my band of brothers from CT..

And these pics I took when I went cycling..

and this at the esplanade roof top terrace..

kinda blurry without a tripod.. but I just bought one so will prob be out photo-taking again.. look out for more! Comments will be great..

Cheers and OUT.

Sometimes.. there seems to be so many troubles.. to the point of being suffocating.. and probably a way to relief it slightly is to talk about it.. whether to a close confidante or whoever.. yet when you have someone there to talk to.. you'll just feel stuck. I don't know.. like a mental gag in your mouth.. wonder if anyone knows what I mean. And there are also times.. you'll miss someone so so much, yet.. you don't know how to go talk to person. Isn't the feeling horrible? People say, "Don't waste time on someone who won't waste time on you.". Perhaps it's true.. perhaps not.. but truth be told, as cliche as it may sound, forgeting someone is definitely much much harder than knowing him or her. Or perhaps I'm a tad too sentimental. I don't know.....

Anyway, went out with Jack, Jason, Ziyang and Waikee today to catch MI:III at The Cathay. Told Jason the night before that I won't be joining them for lunch and when I got there, Jack and Ziyang seem to be in a bad mood. The air seemed pretty tense.. even though I just sat down. Turned out Ziyang had some.. er-hmm.. problems, and Jack was pissed cos everyone was late, among other stuff.. Guess the day was set off on the wrong foot and kinda affected the mood among us at the beginning. The movie was great though.. real exciting. Action fans shouldn't give it a miss.

Anyway, I digress, went bowling at Marina Sq. after that and I won all 3 games.. even though I played pretty badly.. scoring a 109, 127 & 114. And Jason should have won the last game had he not "purposely" missed the last shot, or so he claims, cos he heard winner has to buy a round of drinks for the guys. Too bad he didn't whack it, cos it was loser treat.

Had dinner at the Marina food loft.. where I took this pic.....

among others.. this kinda turned out the best lookin' one.

By this time I think Jack was really pissed with Ziyang cos we all wanna come out and have fun and Ziyang is appearing so sullen, and we all wanna help him yet he doesn't say anything. Finally he let it out and we all went to spot at Marina promenade where we helped him out.. girl problems as usual.. and also talked about many other things, from relationships to NS to our poly life. I think we all missed the times we had in poly. Was really fun.. seemed like we had more fun than studying but well, we all gotta move on. I guess many thoughts went through my head today as well..

Just wanna sign off today by saying, problems are there to be solved. Good friends are hard to come by and never never, ever take things for granted, be it your family, friends, partners.. Cos we can never predict the future.

Man... my phone's camera really suck. Here are some pics of the model car in full 6-megapix glory....

Hmm.. went to CMPB today to extend my passport, hated that place.. and still hate that place. After that went to my parents' shop before having lunch with my mum. Haven't had lunch with her for a long time so it's nice.. went to this Pizza Hut at Amoy St, which was totally deserted.. maybe cos lunch time is over.. maybe that place is just that quiet. It's like we booked the whole restaurant.

Went back to the shop before heading off to Funan. Mission: search for the Daisy Official soundtrack. After a fruitless search for the soundtrack of Windstruck in 2004, I imagine myself shop-hopping looking for the CD(I managed to find the Windstruck O.S.T. in Korea btw). Walked into the Sembawang music centre and the friendly staff came to my service.. After telling him what I want.. he said there ain't no Daisy O.S.T. there.. till I mentioned it's a korean movie, he went to look for some CDs and pluck a few new korean movie O.S.T.s out and the Daisy O.S.T. was right there man. Bought it straightaway.. feels like striking gold on the 1st hit.. haha

and the soundtrack sounds really beautiful.. just like the film.. fantastic..

After that got a Nederlands cap from the Joga Bonito Shop outside Raffles City and a wedding anniversary card inside before heading back to the shop..

Took this pic.. I'd like to call it "Old & New". Go figure.. ;)

Have a nice weekend and OUT.

While out on tuesday for Jack's birthday, I bought a car model kit. Been wanting to get one for some time, just that haven't seen something I like. Finally saw one, a Subaru Impreza WRX STi World Rally Championship Spec model. Needed something to pass the time too.. so spent the whole of today doing it. Man I picked the wrong spot to do the kit.. on my living room's coffee table.. got a bad headache mid-way through doing that's still bloody making me giddy now. Anyway.. haven't done model kits for a long long time, and lookin' back, I'd probably have thrown it aside mid-way through when I was younger. Those small decals really gave lots of headaches..

Some ppl might think doing this is a waste of time.. time-consuming.. Why not get a Die-cast ready-made? For WHAT??! To these ppl.. you'll feel no sense of achievement man.. After the last piece of decal was pasted on, it felt really great.

In between doing the model car, drove my mum and sis to her sch at SIM for some parents orientation thing and back. Encountered a bloody absurd incident on the roads. Sometimes I feel it really doesn't pay to be courteous, while down clementi rd towards SIM, I was at a red light on the 2nd lane. There were 2 cars in front of me and in between them was a WHITE TOYOTA ESTIMA signalling right and it's like between the 3rd and 2nd lane. Thinking it wants to cut out to the 2nd lane and go straight, and the car in front of me is not giving way, I waited for the car to move when the light turned green. What did he do? He wanted to cut from the 3rd lane to the 1st lane, and he stopped right in the middle of the 2nd lane in front of me. How ridiculous can some ppl be? Idiot.. and what did I get? Horned by cars at the back. I high-beamed and horned him before he decided to inch into the 1st lane.

Well.. since we're on the topic of driving, I really don't understand some local drivers. WHAT'S YOUR BLOODY SIGNALS FOR IF YOU DON'T USE THEM?????!!!!!! Seriously.. what's so tough about flicking your bloody signal? I'd gladly high-beam or give you a nice 5-sec horn you damn idiots.

That said, I'd like you guys know I'm still a very courteous and patient driver... most of the time. >;)

Cheers and OUT.

Life is so mundane! Where's some excitement when you need it? Alright yesterday wasn't that bad. My poly buddy Jack's birthday is today and cos he got some programme lined up today he gave us poly buddies(Xinghe, Waikee, Ziyang & me) a treat at Baccarat Resturant at Plaza by the Park. Pretty nice place.. liked the ambience. The international buffet spread was good, from jap to chinese and the deserts.. man.. great.

After that we walked down to Marina Sq, might as well.. cos everyone so so damn bloated. I swear that one meal lasted us the whole day. Walked around for a while before heading to the cinema to check if Daisy was showing. Too bad it wasn't showing and there really ain't anything worth watching so we decided to go bowling. Think it's the 1st time the guys are bowling with me.. bowled a terrible 1st game.. managing only a 88 but was totally on fire the 2nd game. Hitting a turkey was sweet.. haven't hit one in some time.. got a 165 in the end. At the lane beside us.. there was this malay couple.. and the guy has a fantastic walk-up and throw.. but that's all.. cos all his balls went into the GUTTER. Sad.. well we were attracting quite a lot of attention at the ally cos everytime we strike or spare we're cheering loudly and Mr.Jack is doing his Mourinho poses. Really fun..

After that we headed to Suntec before ending in Bugis where we finally got to watch Daisy. Fantastic movie.. loved the cinematography, and Jun Ji-hyun of cos.. =D

Alright think I'm getting long-winded. Today basically woke up, had brunch and headed to Jack's house to get some stuff from him and played a few rounds of Fifa 06 before heading to queensway to get the Adidas jerseys( more on that next time ) printed and headed home. Cheers
